ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 10, 2002 -- Jeppesen and Honeywell today unveiled an alliance to provide an Integrated Navigation Data
Service for Honeywell Primus Epic with INAV (Interactive Navigation) avionics. The service includes a suite of worldwide
navigation information including: electronic Jeppesen charts; enroute navigation data; geo-political boundary information;
airspace and communications data; terrain data; and obstacles.
Under the alliance, electronic Jeppesen charts, including approach charts, airport diagrams, arrival and departure charts,
will be presented on Primus Epic with INAV's 10" x 13" liquid crystal displays. In addition, Jeppesen data will be used to
provide graphical navigation information on the moving map display in the Primus Epic with INAV system.
The moving map display is a feature of Primus Epic with INAV that loosely resembles a VFR navigation chart. Using Jeppesen
data, pilots can select to graphically depict information such as navigation aids, airways, airspace boundaries, airports
and runways on Primus Epic with INAV's moving map display. In addition, onboard sensor systems can be used to depict
terrain, nearby air traffic and weather.
"We view the Jeppesen-Honeywell alliance as the hallmark for business going forward, and are proud to be on the leading edge
of how business is done," says Greg Bowlin, Jeppesen senior corporate vice-president. "The Integrated Navigation Data
Service combines the full resources of both companies working together to provide an integrated solution for our customers."
The Integrated Navigation Data Service will be provided to Primus Epic with INAV's first implementations in the Gulfstream
PlaneView and Dassault Falcon EASy cockpits. The first year's subscription to worldwide charts and data for the Primus Epic
with INAV system is included in the purchase of aircraft through the manufacturer.
