Announces Major Orders

Paris (June 17, 1997) -- In one of this year's earliest announcements,
AlliedSignal confirmed orders totaling $543 million covering a number of
aerospace products and services for airlines and airframe manufacturers
around the world.
New contracts include an $88 million order for new APUs from five Airbus
operators. AlliedSignal also picked up a $50 million contract from Sikorsky
to supply APUs for their new S-92 medium-lift helicopter.

Another $100 million
came for LHTEC for propulsion engine systems for the Ayres Loadmaster utility
aircraft. The propulsion system consists of two LHTEC T800 engines that
deliver 2,700 shaft horsepower through a common gearbox to a single nose
mounted propeller.
AlliedSignal's largest order comes from AERO Vodochody. Worth around
$175 million, the contract calls for AlliedSignal to produce 72 ITEC F124-GA-100
turbofan engines and supply spares and logistics support for the Czech Air
Force L-159 Multi-Role Light Combat Aircraft.
The leading aerospace supplier also chalked up $130 million in a deals
to supply brake and avionics work for a number of German, Russian and Turkish
airlines.
