AlliedSignal Announces Major Orders

Paris (June 17, 1997) -- In one of this year's earliest announcements, AlliedSignal confirmed orders totaling $543 million covering a number of aerospace products and services for airlines and airframe manufacturers around the world.

New contracts include an $88 million order for new APUs from five Airbus operators. AlliedSignal also picked up a $50 million contract from Sikorsky to supply APUs for their new S-92 medium-lift helicopter.

Another $100 million came for LHTEC for propulsion engine systems for the Ayres Loadmaster utility aircraft. The propulsion system consists of two LHTEC T800 engines that deliver 2,700 shaft horsepower through a common gearbox to a single nose mounted propeller.

AlliedSignal's largest order comes from AERO Vodochody. Worth around $175 million, the contract calls for AlliedSignal to produce 72 ITEC F124-GA-100 turbofan engines and supply spares and logistics support for the Czech Air Force L-159 Multi-Role Light Combat Aircraft.

The leading aerospace supplier also chalked up $130 million in a deals to supply brake and avionics work for a number of German, Russian and Turkish airlines.
