Fairchild
Fasteners Demonstrates Performance

Paris (June 19, 1997) -- With manufacturing facilities in the U.S., France
and Germany, Fairchild Fasteners brings not only a strong international
heritage in fastening technology, but also one of the broadest lines of
specialty fastening systems to the Paris Air show -- from custom latching
devices to fluid boss adapters.

Paris is evidence that Fairchild Fasteners is on the move. At the1995
Paris Air Show, the company had an exhibit. At this year's show, Fairchild
Fasteners also has a chalet. And, the company is announcing several initiatives
coincidentally with the show.
Fairchild Fasteners just announced the acquisition of Simmonds S.A, a
leading European manufacturer and distributor of aerospace, industrial and
automotive fastening systems, with three facilities in France and one in
Portugal.
According to Eric Steiner, president of Fairchild Fasteners and chief
operating officer of The Fairchild Corporation, "Through this acquisition,
we have improved our competitive market position by increasing manufacturing
capacity to take better advantage of the surging demand for fastener products
on both sides of the Atlantic."
The company also
announced the establishment of four regional Customer Business Teams for
the United States and two others for nationwide coverage. Fairchild Fasteners
says the teams were established to better fulfill customer's fastening requirements
by locating business teams regionally to better focus on our market segments.
It all boils down to service excellence, a hallmark of the company.
Fairchild Fasteners' representatives in the exhibit at Paris describe
the company as a "total one-stop-shop," supplying over 80 percent
of what any customer in the industry will need. And, say the Fairchild Fasteners
exhibit team, evidence of that commitment is amply featured at the exhibit,
with colorful displays exhibiting a variety of thread studs, silver-plated
high-temp engine nuts, structural nuts and high strength, structural bolts.
