12 Dassault Falcon 2000s To Enter NetJet Europe Fleet

Farnborough, England - Twelve Dassault Falcon 2000s will join the Executive Jet European fleet as the companies announced jointly a 12 aircraft order for the rapidly growing fractional ownership program.

Combined with the 26 Dassault Falcon 2000s purchased last December, the total value of Falcon 2000s on order exceeds $820 million. The NetJets Europe program was launched in 1996 with the Cessna SII aircraft, but program chairman Richard Santulli says a larger aircraft was needed in European markets.

Together with the previous order announcement, Executive Jets becomes the largest customer for Dassault.

All fractional owners of the NetJet Europe fleet are based in Europe, but around 40% of its flyers are American, Santulli says. Owners in the NetJet program receive the same service and benefits of the program whether in Europe or the US.

Santulli says NetJets would have preferred a larger order of Falcon 2000s but no more were available. He says they need between 15-20 in their fleet to make money.

"Twelve is not an economical number for us, but we assume there will be more," he adds.

Fractional ownership shares for the Falcon 2000 cost around $2 million each. The aircraft will join the European fleet in early 2000.
