Allison Is A Happy CampFarnborough, September 6 -- The Allison Division of Rolls-Royce has had plenty to be happy about at this week's air show. On Tuesday they announced that they would add a potential of over $650 million to their order books, thanks to the Embraer EMB-145 order from Continental Express. Wednesday, Allison reported an additional $80 million from the Cessna Citation X sale to Executive Jet Aviation. The Allison AE 3007 engine is the powerplant on both aircraft. The two orders came within hours of each other. Said Allison's Vice President of Large Commercial Aircraft Engines Dr. A.S. Novick, "This was an extremely successful week for Allison AE 3007 commercial sales with record orders for both the Citation X and Embraer EMB-145. The Embraer order calls for engines for 25 firm aircraft and 175 options. Firm orders will be delivered by 1998. Cessna's Citation X to Executive Jet Aviation calls for 25 Allison powered aircraft to begin deliveries in 1997.
