- the largest order of the Paris Air Show so far. In back-to-back press

Pratt & Whitney Will Power Ilyushin
The Il-114 turboprop being shown at the Paris Air Show will soon be powered
by PW127F engines, according to Ilyushin officials at the show. The new
engines will cause the aircraft to be named the IL-114PC reflecting the
Pratt Canada connection. The announcement reflects contract signing - the
two firms had been in negotiations for two years.
Long Range EMB-145 In Works
On the heels of the American Eagle order announcement comes word from Embraer
that they will soon offer an extended range EMB-145. In addition to range,
the new version will gain better cruise performance in hot weather as well
as increased climb capabilities.
Airbus Corporate Jet Priced Over Boeing Biz Jet
The A319 Corporate Jet will cost customers $35 million base price, in contrast
to the 737-700 Boeing Business Jet's tag of $30.5 million. While Boeing's
price will go up next month to $32 million with a further increase expected
later in the year, the "next-generation" 737 business aircraft
will still be bargain priced. Both manufacturers claim that you can pick
up their aircraft after complete outfitting for a paltry $40 million.
